I want to make my macbook pro quicker

I want to make my macbook pro quicker
My macbook pro had been slow for a couple of years now. And it has just got a whole lot worse.
I downloaded an app, which I thought was something else. It has now attached itslef to Google Chrome and is sending my contact sspam aswell as opening hundereds if popups throughout the day. I need to get this off my mac and I also need to get McAfee family protection off. Though there is no uninstall option for it.
I took my laptop to a genius bar and he said I needed to wipe the hard drive after transferring my files to another computer.
I can do this, but I don't want to transfer the programmes and fils that are causing me these problems!
I have an EtreCheck report below:

Please help
I took my laptop to a genius bar and he said I needed to wipe the hard drive after transferring my files to another computer.
Agreed. Follow these instructions.
First back up your essential files and documents. To do that read Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac
Since you have no backup to rely upon, the backup that it will create will duplicate all the problems that now exist, so the option to restore your system from a backup date preceding any corruption is not available to you.
The recovery procedure will require that you erase the Mac using OS X Recovery, and then create a new user whose contents will be empty. You will then be able to use Setup Assistant to migrate your essential documents including photos and music.
When doing so, select only your previous User account and do not select "Applications", "Computer and Network Settings" or "Other files and folders". De-select those choices. Subsequent to using Setup Assistant, you will need to reinstall the essential software you may require, once again remembering to install software only from their original sources, and omitting all non-essential software.
To erase and install Mavericks read: OS X Mavericks: Erase and reinstall OS X
To migrate your essential documents read: OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks and follow the procedure under Time Machine or other disk migration.
May I suggest that you review the following setting in System Preferences?
Although you may easily override that setting, it will serve to protect you from inadvertently installing garbage.
